Monday, January 21 is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a pastor born in the United States on January 15, 1929, and assassinated April 4, 1968 in Memphis Tennessee. He campaigned for the civil rights of African Americans in the United States, for peace and against poverty. He defended the right to vote,  unification and employment of ethnic minorities. He delivered a famous speech on August 28, 1963 at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington for the March for jobs and freedom: "I have a dream".

Martin Luther King, Jr est un pasteur né aux Etats-Unis le 15 janvier 1929 et mort assassiné le 4 avril 1968 à Memphis au Tennessee.
Il a milité pour les droits civiques des Noirs aux États-Unis, pour la paix et contre la pauvreté. Il a   défendu le droit de vote, l'unité et l'emploi des minorités ethniques. Il a prononcé un discours célèbre le 28 août 1963 devant le Lincoln Memorial à Washington durant la marche pour l'emploi et la liberté : « I have a dream ».
